Grand Traverse Distillery Tour
Please enjoy our one minute long Grand Traverse Distillery Tour video!
We spent a few days in Traverse City, Michigan recently, and of course sampled some whiskeys and visited a few distilleries. It was a very enjoyable trip and I would love to get back up there again!
One of the distilleries that we visited was the Grand Traverse Distillery. It is a really cool place and they pride themselves on making everything from grain to glass. Grand Traverse is pretty much an old-timer in the craft distilling world. Owner and first distiller Kent Rabish started Grand Traverse Distillery way back in 2005, when he got the idea to open Northern Michigan’s first craft distillery. They use local grains and distill, age and bottle every spirit that carries the Grand Traverse name. The spent grains are sent to a local dairy farm where it is used to feed cattle. The milk is then used to make a local ice cream, Moomers, which is pretty awesome, too!
I made this 1 minute video tour of the whole distillery. Check it out to see its inner workings. It was a great place to visit, and great people to visit with, too! We’ll also have a full write up about Grand Traverse Distillery coming to BourbonObsessed.com soon!
I hope you enjoy our one minute long Grand Traverse Distillery Tour! I also really enjoyed the numerous whiskeys that I sampled while I was there, and bought quite a few bottles to take home with me. Here’s my review of one of my favorites – Grand Traverse Ole George Cask Strength Single Barrel Rye Review. Be sure to check it out! Cheers!🥃
