All Nations Whiskey
The All Nations Whiskey brand honors the heritage of Carry A. Nation (also spelled Carrie), an ardent proponent of the Temperance Movement. She didn’t just preach about the evils of alcohol; she attacked taverns with her hatchet. Not unsurprisingly, due to her aggressive tactics, she became quite well known. So much so, in fact, that bar owners hung posters with the slogan “All Nations Welcome Except Carrie” on the walls of their bars.
The Specifics – – All Nations Small Batch Bourbon Review
Since Garrard County Distilling Co has only been distilling for a year, similar to All Nations Flagship Bourbon, the barrels used in All Nations Small Batch Bourbon were selected from bourbons distilled at multiple distilleries across Kentucky.
A Whole New Line of All Nations Bourbons
All Nations Bourbons have been on the shelves for a little while. However, the bourbons that are available now are quite different from the somewhat similarly packaged ones which were released previously. The Flagship (the white labelled 96 Proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey), the 107 proof All Nations Small Batch (dark blue label) and the 111 proof Single Barrel (red label) released in September 2024 are all new bourbons, created by the team at Garrard County Distilling Co.
Tasting Notes – All Nations Small Batch Bourbon Review
Let’s taste it:
🛏 Rested for 15 minutes in a Glencairn
👉🏻Nose: Medium dark toffee, light brown sugar, rye spices, dried apricots, tart orange peel; dark cherries; hint of toast; alcohol vapor appropriate for the proof.
👉🏻Taste: Simple syrup sweetness, light caramel, dark cherries; hints of cinnamon; tart oranges, rye spices, mild dry oak
👉🏻Finish: Moderate white pepper spice, hint of tart oranges; increasingly dry; lingering mild sweetness, mild char; fairly long; pleasant warmth
The nose of All Nations Small Batch Bourbon is fairly rich, with medium dark toffee and light brown sugar. There are also spicy and tangy notes from rye spices, dried apricots and tart orange peel. In addition, dark cherries and a hint of toast round out the complex mix of flavors. The alcohol vapor is appropriate for the proof.
The taste has a moderate simple syrup sweetness, with light caramel and dark cherries. Later on, there are more noticeable tart oranges, rye spices, cinnamon and mild dry oak, which continue into the finish. In addition, a moderate white pepper spiciness appears. The long finish becomes increasingly dry, but yet there is a mild lingering sweetness, as well. Tart orange persists to the end, where it is joined by some mild barrel char. Finally, I am left with a pleasant warmth.
All Nations Small Batch Bourbon vs. All Nations Flagship Bourbon
Similar to the Flagship Bourbon, All Nations Small Batch Bourbon begins on the sweeter side and ends on the drier, spicier side. However, the character is a bit different throughout. The nose of the small batch is more rich than the Flagship, and the fruit character is different. Rather than the sweet Juicy Fruit gum notes of the Flagship, the Small batch has tart orange peel and dried apricots; nevertheless, both share the dark cherries. The degree of spice and the length of the finish are both a little greater in the Small Batch than in the Flagship, as well. Overall, the Small Batch offers a bolder, more layered experience, with a richer nose, deeper spice, and a longer finish that sets it apart from the Flagship.

Summary
All Nations Small Batch Bourbon is a well-balanced pour with a pleasant progression of flavors. The blend of sweetness, spice, and fruit notes comes together for a truly enjoyable sip. Toffee, dark cherry, tart orange, and rye spices add richness, contrast, and depth up front, while the finish brings warmth, dryness, and spice. With its artful blending and well-rounded profile, this bourbon stands out as a solid, satisfying choice that should appeal to a wide range of palates. Cheers! 🥃
