High n’ Wicked History
High n’ Wicked was founded in 2019 by W. L. Lyons Brown, III, and Kevin E. Sachs, two former Brown-Forman senior executives who were instrumental in building Jack Daniel’s and Southern Comfort in Europe and Asia. The firm’s goal is to present ultra-premium whiskeys that honor traditional methods of delivering exceptional flavors. Their year-round releases include a bourbon and rye, which are occasionally available as various limited release expressions, such as barrel proof, single barrel and double wood finishes. In addition, the brand releases additional limited releases which include high-aged bourbons, as well as Single Malt and Single Grain Irish Whiskeys.

Tasting Notes – High N’ Wicked Bourbon Review
Let’s taste it:
🛏 Rested for 15 minutes in a Glencairn
👉🏻Nose: Dark stone fruits like dark cherries and plums, caramel, mild dry oak, rye spices including cloves, touch of anise, tart orange citrus and mild honey sweetness; grape candy later on; alcohol vapor fairly mild for the proof
👉🏻Taste: Caramel, simple syrup, dry oak, mild rye spices, hints of tart orange
👉🏻Finish: Growing capsaicin spice; increasingly dry, mild dry oak; fairly long with lingering spice and mild char; moderate warmth
The nose of High N’ Wicked Bourbon has a mild honey sweetness with light caramel and dark stone fruits, like dark cherries and plums. There is also a nice complimentary contrast from ryes spices, including cloves, as well as a touch of anise, tart orange citrus and mild dry oak. Later on, there’s some sweet grape candy. The alcohol vapor is relatively mild for the proof.
The taste is mildly sweet, with caramel, simple syrup, mild rye spices and a touch of dry oak and tart orange citrus. Later on, there is increasing capsaicin spice, reaching a moderate level of heat. As time goes on, the finish becomes increasingly dry, with lingering spice, citrus, mild barrel char and moderate warmth.
Summary
The nose of this bourbon is interesting. With each sip, it alternates between being fruit forward to the rye spices being dominant, and back again. The flavors in the taste are fairly consistent, albeit, a bit different from the nose. The softer caramel and simple syrup notes appear first, but those are later replaced by the drier and spicier flavors. What’s also interesting, is that light caramel is really the only “classic” bourbon flavor that I pick up, making this bourbon a bit different than the status quo. But, that’s a good thing. Overall, it all adds up to an enjoyable pour.
Conclusion – High n’ Wicked Bourbon Review
If you enjoy a bourbon that transitions from fruit forward at first to more dry and spicy in the finish, then you’ll want to give High N’ Wicked Bourbon a try. Have you tried it? What did you think? Cheers!🥃
