Please enjoy our Little Book The Infinite Edition 1 Bourbon Review!

Little Book was the first brand released by Freddie Noe, Eighth Generation Master Distiller of the Fred B. Noe Distillery. It features unique blends of whiskey, bottled uncut and unfiltered. The first release (Little Book Chapter 1, “The Easy”) was in 2017. However, the series is now on Chapter 8 (“Path Not Taken”), which was released earlier this year. The latest release, Little Book: “The Infinite” represents the first line extension of the brand. This first whiskey in this new series is aptly called Edition 1, and is a blend of whiskeys laid down by three of Beam’s most recent master distillers, 6th Generation Master Distiller Booker Noe, 7th Generation Master Distiller Fred Noe, and 8th Generation Master Distiller Freddie Noe.

Tasting Notes – Little Book The Infinite: Edition 1 Bourbon

Let’s taste it:

🛏 Rested for 15 minutes in a Glencairn

👉🏻Nose: Sweet and dark cherries, baked apples, rich brown sugar, hints of milk chocolate, dark leather, oak & cedar; alcohol fairly mild for the proof
👉🏻Taste: Sweet brown sugar simple syrup, dark cherries, dry oak & hot cinnamon
👉🏻Finish: Growing white pepper spice; hot cinnamon; dry oak; long; barrel char later on; pleasant warmth

The nose of Little Book The Infinite: Edition 1 Bourbon starts off fairly sweet, but yet it feels deep and mature, as well. There are dark cherries, sweet red cherries and even some baked apples, too. The background is rich brown sugar, dark leather, oak and cedar, befitting the older age of some of the component bourbons. Later on, after a sip or two, I notice hints of rich milk chocolate, as well. The alcohol vapor is lighter than expected for the proof.

The brown sugar sweetness and cherries continue into the taste, but they are rapidly joined by dry oak, hot cinnamon and growing white pepper spice. The spice increases further into the very long finish. Later on, the mouthfeel turns drier, with more dry oak, and a noticeable smokiness from ample barrel char, as well. In the end, I am left with a pleasant warmth, lingering char and white pepper spice.

Tastes As Expected

To say that that Little Book The Infinite: Edition 1 Bourbon tastes as I expected it sounds a bit odd; however, it does. The older bourbons certainly make themselves known, and are the dominant notes in the flavor profile. That is not unexpected, since the youngest bourbon in the blend is 7 years old, with two of the four bourbons being 14 and 20 years old. The “younger” bourbons definitely play their part as well, by adding noticeable sweetness as fruit. Overall, this is an excellent blend!

Conclusion

If you are a fan of more mature bourbon flavors, balanced by younger, but still mature 7 and 8 year old bourbons, and aren’t afraid of a bit of smoky barrel char in the finish, then this is the bourbon for you. Have you tried Little Book The Infinite Bourbon? What did you think? Cheers!🥃
