New Riff Reintroduces Red Turkey Wheat Kentucky Straight Bourbon

New Riff Red Turkey Wheat Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey returns for a wider release following its debut in 2021. Red Turkey Wheat will be available for purchase at the distillery gift shop and for online shipping beginning at 11:00AM EST on Friday, August 15. It will also arrive at select retailers across the country. MSRP $59.99. Visit newriffdistilling.com for more information.

The Jack Daniel Distillery has introduced Tennessee Blackberry, the newest flavor in its popular lineup. Offered at 70 proof (35% ABV), this release blends the distillery’s classic Old No. 7 Tennessee Whiskey–crafted from a mash bill of 80% corn, 12% malted barley, and 8% rye, charcoal mellowed, and aged in new American oak–with a fresh blackberry flavor infusion. Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond 11-Year-Old VVS 2025 Released

I haven’t seen the press release for the Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond 11-Year-Old VVS 2025, but a few media outlets are reporting it, and bottles were released at the Heaven Hill Bourbon Experience (HHBE) this past Saturday, so it is apparently now here. This is the second Old Fitzgerald release of 2025, and it is another maroon labelled VVS — Very Very Special — one. This is the 4th release in the VVS series, with the most recent being the 13 Year Old from last year, which received much acclaim. While that one had been distilled in 1999 and vatted for later bottling, this one is a more recent rendition, being distilled in April of 2014. Like all the recent Old Fitz decanter bourbons, it is made from a mash bill of 68% corn, 20% wheat & 12% malted barley, and is bottled in bond, and therefore 100 proof. The price is reported to be $169.99 for a 750ml bottle. Like all prior VVS releases, it should be available only at the HHBE, although it may once again be sold at the Kentucky Bourbon Festival in September. It hasn’t made Heaven Hill’s Old Fitz product page yet, but here’s the link.

Garrison Brothers Laguna Madre Bourbon 2025 Release Announced

Garrison Brothers Distillery will release its rarest expression, the 2025 Laguna Madre Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey, on September 6, 2025, at its Hye, Texas distillery. Limited to just 3,000 bottles, Laguna Madre is aged eight years—four in American white oak and four in rare French Limousin oak casks, which are made from trees over 120 years old. Part of the proceeds benefit FlatsWorthy, a nonprofit promoting coastal conservation and respectful angling. Each bottle comes in a custom wooden display case with a Texas Gulf Coast photo. Bottled at 101 proof. SRP: $349.99. Read the full press release here.

Old Louisville Whiskey Co. Kentucky Series Bourbon

The Old Louisville Whiskey Co. is about to release their Kentucky Series Bourbon. It’s age-stated at 8 years old (this release is 8 1/2), bottled at 100 proof and will have an SRP of $59.99. It’s made from a mash bill of 78% corn, 10% rye and 12% malted barley, but it’s not from the large heritage distillery known for that mash bill. Rather, this bourbon was one of the early distillates from Bardstown Bourbon Company. It was barreled at 120 proof and aged in char 3 barrels. Each bottle in the series will have one of the following letters on the label: K-E-N-T-U-C-K-Y. True fans will collect them all! The release date is September 1, and bottles will be also available for sampling and purchase at the Kentucky Bourbon Festival, as well. My review is coming soon. oldlouisvillewhiskey.com

Woodford Reserve Announces the Latest Distillery Series: 12-Year-Old American Single Malt Whiskey

Woodford Reserve has unveiled its newest Distillery Series release: 12-Year-Old American Single Malt Whiskey. Crafted from 100% malted barley, this unique expression was triple pot distilled and aged for 12 years in used whiskey barrels intentionally held for this long-awaited release. Bottled at 90.4 proof, the whiskey offers a complex profile with notes of sweet nutty malt, soft caramel, warm spice, and subtle citrus. It became available starting August 14, 2025, for a suggested retail price of $99.99 per 375ml bottle. Distribution includes select Kentucky retailers, the Woodford Reserve Distillery, and Woodford’s online store (shipping to KY, ND, NE, NH, and D.C. only). woodfordreserve.com

To celebrate the release, two special events will be held at the Woodford Reserve Distillery on September 5:

  • Premium Tasting with Elizabeth McCall – At 1:00 PM EST, enjoy a 45-minute guided tasting with Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall, featuring the new release and other Distillery Series malts. Tickets: $175, which includes a bottle of the new whiskey.
  • Bottle Signing – From 2:00–3:30 PM EST, meet Elizabeth McCall for a bottle signing of the 12-Year-Old American Single Malt.
