New Bourbon Releases News For August 29, 2026
New Bourbon Releases For August 29, 2026
Bardstown Bourbon Company 2026 Discovery and Lochs of Jura Barrel Finish
Bardstown Bourbon Company released 2026 Discovery and Lochs of Jura Barrel Finish nationwide in limited quantities on August 21, 2026, at a suggested retail price of $139.99 for each 750 mL bottle. Lochs of Jura Barrel Finish began with a blend of 12-year-old Kentucky and 11-year-old Indiana straight bourbon and 10-year-old Indiana rye before spending an additional 32 months in 84% ex-bourbon and 16% ex-sherry casks previously used to mature single malt Scotch whisky, sourced from Scotland’s remote Isle of Jura. It is bottled at 104 proof. 2026 Discovery begins with a blend of 7- and 11-year-old Kentucky bourbons and 10-year-old Indiana bourbon and received a four-month finishing period in custom-made Garryana oak barrels; it is bottled at 112.8 proof. Louisville artist Margaret Archambault created original artwork inspired by each whiskey for each label. Read the full press release here.
Branch & Barrel Straight Rye Whiskey
Branch & Barrel Straight Rye Whiskey is the first straight rye whiskey from Branch & Barrel Distilling of Centennial, CO. It has a mash bill of 51% rye, 40% corn and 9% barley and was aged for three years. The rye was sourced from Colorado’s San Luis Valley, where hard winter rye is grown as a winter cover crop, and Branch & Barrel draws its water from the Arapahoe Aquifer, a Colorado groundwater source naturally filtered through sandstone and shale. All of the grains are sourced from Colorado, and the rye is pot-distilled. The whiskey is now available in limited distribution across Colorado and at the distillery tasting room. It is bottled at 88 proof and priced at $34.99. babdistilling.com
Little & Foster Marriage of Mashbills Bourbon
Little & Foster Marriage of Mashbills Bourbon is the first release from Little & Foster Whiskey Co., founded by John Little and John Foster, co-founders of craft distiller and independent bottler Smooth Ambler (now owned by Pernod Ricard). A core concept of Little & Foster is the “Tuesday whiskey” idea. Fundamentally, it is a spirit that is good enough for special celebrations, but that is approachable enough for everyday as well. Little & Foster has partnered with Wenzel Distilling for blending and bottling.
Marriage of Mashbills Bourbon’s six-barrel blend combines two MGP bourbons with different high-rye and low-rye mash bills, each aged at least nine years. It is non-chill filtered, bottled at 107 proof and priced at $79.99. www.littleandfoster.com
Maker’s Mark Cellar Aged 2026
Maker’s Mark Cellar Aged 2026 combines 49% 11-year-old, 33% 12-year-old and 18% 14-year-old Maker’s Mark bourbons. After aging in traditional warehouses, the bourbon spent additional time maturing in the distillery’s limestone cellar. It is bottled at cask strength at 112.1 proof (56.05% ABV). Maker’s Mark Cellar Aged 2026 will be available beginning September 1 at select U.S. retailers nationwide for a suggested retail price of $175 USD, followed by availability in additional international markets later in 2026 and into 2027.
The Maker’s Mark Distillery will host a celebratory launch event ahead of the Kentucky Bourbon Festival for ticketed guests ages 21 and older on September 10. Beginning September 14, visitors can also experience an exclusive distillery tour that offers behind-the-scenes access to the Cellar Aged process. Tickets for both events are available at www.makersmark.com.
Redwood Empire The Hyperion Batch 001
Redwood Empire The Hyperion Blend of Straight Whiskeys Batch 001 is the first in a series of limited-edition annual releases from Redwood Empire Whiskey. The unfiltered blend combines 32% bourbon whiskey, 30% rye whiskey, 25% wheat whiskey and 13% single malt whiskey, incorporating more than 10 mash bills and whiskey stocks aged from seven to 14 years. The components come from 50-100 barrels, with the single malt component distilled by Redwood Empire. The Hyperion is bottled at 110 proof and will be available imminently in 750 mL bottles for a suggested retail price of $99. It is available for preorder online and will be sold at select retailers throughout the fall. www.redwoodempirewhiskey.com
Editor’s Note: In case you were wondering, Redwood Empire names their whiskeys after famous redwoods, and Hyperion is the world’s tallest tree. Hyperion is 919 years old and 381 feet tall and is located in Redwood National Park. You can learn more about it here.
Angel’s Envy Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Finished in Stout & Amburana Barrels
Angel’s Envy Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Finished in Stout & Amburana Barrels is the 2026 Distillery Series release from Angel’s Envy. It is a blend of six- to seven-year-old bourbons made with a mash bill of 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley. A majority of the whiskey spent six to 24 months finishing in Imperial Stout barrels, while a smaller component received a one-month finish in Brazilian Amburana wood. It is bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV). Approximately 18,000 375 mL bottles will be available exclusively at the Angel’s Envy Distillery in Louisville beginning September 10 for $54.99. www.angelsenvy.com
Editor’s Note: If you have tried stout barrel and Amburana-finished bourbons before, you are going to be pleasantly surprised by this one. The Amburana-finished component is only 1% of the bourbon in the blend. Having tasted it, I would challenge anyone to identify this as an Amburana-finished bourbon in a blind tasting. It adds only the most subtle flavors, identifiable to me only in the finish. The stout finish is also perfectly balanced. I thought it was delicious when I tried it recently. Stay tuned for my full review!
Blue Note Cherry Wood Cask Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Blue Note Cherry Wood Cask Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a limited release from Blue Note Bourbon. The bourbon was aged in American oak and finished in sustainably harvested wild-cherry wood casks from the Jura region of eastern France. It has a mash bill of 70% corn, 21% rye and 9% malted barley and is bottled unfiltered at cask strength at 120 proof (60% ABV). Approximately 1,000 cases are available online through Seelbach’s and in Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri and Tennessee. The suggested retail price is $64.99 for a 750 mL bottle. BlueNoteBourbon.com
Four Roses Experimental Series No. 002 Honey Cask Finish
Four Roses Experimental Series No. 002 Honey Cask Finish is the second release in the Experimental Series from Four Roses Distillery. It blends six-, seven- and eight-year-old bourbons made with the OESQ and OBSK recipes before finishing them for three to nine months in barrels previously used to create Four Roses Bourbon Barrel Aged Honey. The selected barrels were blended and bottled at 104 proof. The 375 mL release will be available exclusively at the Four Roses Distillery and Cox’s Creek Visitor Centers beginning September 18 for a suggested retail price of $55 plus applicable tax, while supplies last. www.fourrosesbourbon.com
Jack Daniel’s American Single Malt Whiskey
Jack Daniel’s American Single Malt Whiskey is receiving a limited nationwide release from Jack Daniel’s after previously being available exclusively at select duty-free retailers. Made with a 100% malted barley mash bill, the whiskey was “ground, fermented and distilled” in Lynchburg, Tennessee, charcoal mellowed through sugar maple charcoal, aged in new charred American oak barrels and finished in Oloroso Sherry casks. It is offered in a one-liter bottle at 90 proof for a suggested retail price of $74.99 and will be available nationwide in limited quantities beginning in fall 2026. www.jackdaniels.com
Editor’s Note: I asked for and received clarification about the whiskey’s age and the finishing time: “…about 4 years in new charred American oak barrels before a 2 to 3 year finish in Oloroso Sherry casks.”
Michter’s US*1 Toasted Barrel Finish Rye 2026
Michter’s US*1 Toasted Barrel Finish Rye 2026 is a limited release from Michter’s Distillery. The fully matured barrel-strength rye is finished in a second barrel made from wood naturally air-dried and seasoned outdoors for 24 months, then toasted to the distillery’s specifications but not charred. Each barrel is bottled at barrel strength, with the 2026 release averaging 109.1 proof (54.55% ABV). It will be released in September for a suggested retail price of $120 per 750 mL bottle in the United States. michters.com/
Editor’s Note: I’m looking forward to this one! It is my favorite of the Toasted Barrel Finish series. If history repeats itself, I am hoping to see it at the Kentucky Bourbon Festival in a couple of weeks.
New Riff Sherry Finish Malted Rye 2026
New Riff Sherry Finish Malted Rye 2026 is the latest annual release from New Riff Distilling. Made from 100% malted rye, the six-year-old whiskey was initially matured in New Riff barrels before being transferred to Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks for additional maturation. It is bottled at barrel proof at 117.3 proof and has a suggested retail price of $69.99. It became available August 28 at the distillery gift shop, online for shipping and at select retailers across New Riff’s national distribution network. newriffdistilling.com/
Cedar Ridge 2026 Anniversary Edition Bourbon
The Cedar Ridge 2026 Anniversary Edition Bourbon from Cedar Ridge Distillery commemorates the Iowa distillery’s 21st anniversary, and is the second release in their Anniversary Series. Master Blender Murphy Quint created the limited release from Cedar Ridge’s 74% corn, 14% rye and 12% malted barley bourbon, finished separately in Madeira, Napa Cabernet, Pedro Ximénez Sherry, Tawny Port and Tokaji casks before blending. Bottled at 112 proof, it will be available at the distillery, through an online presale and from select retailers for $64.99 per 750 mL bottle. cedarridgedistillery.com
Filmland Spirits The Malted Mummy
Filmland Spirits The Malted Mummy is the brand’s first American single malt release, an 86-proof straight American single malt whiskey made from 100% malted barley and aged for five years in Oak IPA (beer) barrels. Filmland sourced the barrels from an Iowa distillery and subsequently aged them in Kentucky. The limited-edition whiskey will debut at BrewzleFest on August 29, 2026, followed by retail availability in 19 states and online. The suggested retail price is $74.99. filmlandspirits.com
Starlight Distillery 10-Year Mizunara Reserve
The Starlight Distillery 10-Year Mizunara Reserve is a single-barrel, cask-strength bourbon produced from estate-grown grain at the family’s farm in Starlight, Indiana. Made through a sweet-mash process and double pot distilled, the bourbon has a mash bill of 60% corn, 20% rye and 20% malted barley. It was initially matured in new, fire-charred American white oak before finishing in a single Japanese Mizunara oak cask and is bottled at 110 proof. Only 250 bottles will be released. An online lottery for 200 bottles opened at noon on August 28 and runs through September 12, 2026, while the remaining 50 bottles will be sold at the distillery on September 12 on a first-come, first-served basis. The price is $250. You can enter the lottery here.
