But First, Here’s What’s New on BourbonObsessed.com!
I’ve had the opportunity to review quite a few bourbons and other American whiskeys these past few weeks. Here are a few of them:
- Milam & Greene Unabridged Bourbon Volume 4 Review
Milam & Greene Unabridged Bourbon Volume 4 is a cask-strength blend built from eight selected barrels ranging in age from 5-10 years, distilled and aged in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Texas, and blended in the Texas heat in Blanco, Texas. It is bottled at 118.4 proof and priced at $95. This one hit all the right notes for me. Read all about it in my full review!. - Old Elk Straight Wheat Whiskey Review
Old Elk Straight Wheat Whiskey is a 100-proof, Indiana-distilled wheat whiskey made with a 95% soft red winter wheat mash bill and aged a minimum of six years. Using Old Elk’s Slow Cut™ Proofing process, this release offers a different take on the wheat whiskey style. It is priced at $67. Read my full review and tasting notes to learn more. - O.H. Ingram Flagship Bourbon Batch 5 Review (2025)
O.H. Ingram Flagship Bourbon is a different blend each year, and Batch 5 delivers a deliciously complex and layered pour. It is bottled at 116.5 proof and priced at around $80. Read my full review and tasting notes! - Copper & Cask Small Batch Series Batch 014 Double Oak Bourbon Review
Copper & Cask 8 Year Double Oaked Bourbon is a limited Small Batch Series release (no. 014) finished in new American Oak Wave Stave barrels. Did that make a difference? Read Craig and Cynthia’s review to find out! Bottled at 120.2 proof and priced at $75. - Old Fitzgerald Bottled in Bond Fall 2025 11-Year Bourbon Review
Old Fitzgerald Bottled in Bond Fall 2025 is an 11-year-old, 100-proof bourbon released in an iconic decanter priced at ~$160. Does it live up to past releases? I’m not so sure. Read my full review to find out more!

New Bourbon Releases
Knob Creek Eli Manning’s Bold Pick: 2026 Batch
Knob Creek has announced the return of its partnership with Eli Manning for the release of Knob Creek Eli Manning’s Bold Pick: 2026 Batch. This limited-edition Single Barrel Cask Strength Bourbon was hand-selected by Manning at the James B. Beam Distilling Co. in Clermont, Kentucky. Bottled straight from the barrel, uncut and unfiltered, the whiskey features proofs ranging from 112.2 to 121.6. It is available nationwide for a limited time with a suggested retail price of $69.99 for a 750mL bottle. For more information, visit www.knobcreek.com/news/bold-picks.
Editor’s Note: There appear to be multiple single barrels available, since we are given a range of proofs. How many barrels? We aren’t told. However, since this bourbon will be distributed nationwide, I would assume there are quite a few. Eli must have had quite the busy day at Beam!
Old Forester 1924
Old Forester has announced the return of Old Forester 1924. This release is the fifth installment in the Whiskey Row Series and carries a 10-year age statement. It features a mash bill of 79% corn, 11% rye, and 10% malted barley, differing from the traditional Old Forester recipe. The release commemorates the year 1924, when the distillery acquired barrels from closed distilleries during Prohibition and bottled that liquid as Old Forester. The whiskey is bottled at 100 proof and priced at $119.99. For more information, visit oldforester.com.
Editor’s Note: This bourbon was originally released in January 2024. As with last year’s re-release, it is not clear if this is a new blend, or just a re-release of already bottled or vatted bourbon. I favor the latter, based on my discussions last year. Either way, if you are a fan, now is the time to pick one up!
Woodford Reserve Double Double Oaked
Woodford Reserve has announced the return of Woodford Reserve Double Double Oaked for 2026. This limited-edition release is made by finishing fully mature Woodford Reserve Bourbon for roughly two years in a second, heavily toasted, lightly charred, new oak barrel.* For reference, Woodford Double Oaked is finished in that second barrel for only about 1 year. The bourbon is bottled at 90.4 proof in a 700ml bottle and carries a suggested retail price of $199.99. It was released nationally and at the distillery earlier this week on January 14, and is currently available at Woodford’s online shop, with shipping only to a limited number of states, and also in select Kentucky retailers. Read the press release to learn more.
*Editor’s Note: Please note that the original press releases stated that Double Double Oaked is made by finishing mature Double Oaked Bourbon an additional 2 years in a second, heavily toasted, lightly charred, new oak barrel. That is incorrect, as that would make this Triple Oaked, not Double Oaked. Also, since 2015 this bourbon was released almost annually as part of Woodford’s Distillery series. It became an annual national release in 2025. If you would like to read my comparison of it to Double Oaked and to multiple years of the Distillery Series versions, you can find that in my Woodford Double Double Oaked Review (2024 release).

Rebel Bourbon Brings Back Rebel Root Beer
Rebel Bourbon has announced the return of fan-favorite Rebel Root Beer Whiskey, featuring Rebel Straight Bourbon infused with bold root beer flavor. Bottled at 70 proof (35% ABV), it’s available nationwide this month for $19.99 (750mL) and $0.99 (50mL). On-premise consumer activation plans include merchandise giveaways such as stickers, coasters, T-shirts and hats with unmistakable “Shoot the Root” branding and shot machines to serve chilled pours. Brand manager Philip Lux says the comeback was driven by consumer demand, calling it “fun and tasty, but doesn’t have any rules – on purpose.” Read the full press release here.
Bluegrass Distillers Tournament of Roses® Toasted Oak Bourbon
Bluegrass Distillers has released Tournament of Roses® Toasted Oak Bourbon, a limited-edition bottling created in official partnership with the Pasadena Tournament of Roses. This release is a blend of straight bourbon whiskeys secondary-aged in toasted American oak barrels to enhance notes of caramel, vanilla, pecan, and oak spice. It is bottled at 100 proof with a suggested retail price of approximately $50. While it appears to be sold out at the distillery’s online shop, it may still be available at select retailers in California and Kentucky. For more information, visit bluegrassdistillers.com.
High West Cask Strength Bourbon
High West has released High West Cask Strength Bourbon, a blend of straight bourbon whiskeys aged 6–20 years. It is bottled at 117 proof. High West Saloon Society members received the opportunity to purchase this bourbon earlier in the week. It became available to the general public online and at The Saloon & Distillery General Stores beginning January 16. The price is $69.99 for a 750mL bottle. For more information and to purchase online, visit highwest.com. You can also read my full review here!
This information arrived after press-time for my emailed newsletter:
- Mash Bill:
- 60% Corn, 40% Malted Barley – Kentucky
- 60% Corn, 40% Rye – Kentucky
- 75% Corn, 21% Rye, 4% Malted Barley – Indiana
- 78% Corn, 10% Rye, 12% Malted Barley – Kentucky
- 84% Corn, 8% Rye, 8% Malted Barley – Tennessee
Editor’s Note: Note that if you have received the multiple Saloon Society emails the past two weeks, or High West’s email blast to their mailing list on January 15, or visited the product page before January 15, the information provided was incorrect. All of those stated that this whiskey is a blend of both straight bourbons and ryes, aged 6-10 years. However, I have clarified with the brand, and this whiskey is indeed only a blend of straight bourbons, aged 6-20 years. The website has since been corrected.
This next new release isn’t a whiskey, but it is “whiskey-adjacent” and it sounds delicious!
Woodford Reserve x Compartés S’mores Chocolate Bar
Woodford Reserve and Compartés have announced the return of their partnership with the release of a limited-edition S’mores Chocolate Bar. This new confection is infused with Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Bourbon and features toasted marshmallow, graham cracker, and rich dark chocolate. The chocolate bar is available online and nationwide for a suggested retail price of $9.95. Woodford also has created a companion cocktail, the S’more Old Fashioned, which sounds delicious. Read all about the chocolate and the cocktail in the full press release.
