But First, Here’s What’s New on BourbonObsessed.com!
I’ve had the opportunity to review quite a few bourbons and other American whiskeys these past few weeks. And make a cool calculator that calculates the calories in your pour of bourbon! Check it out:
- How many calories are really in your bourbon pour? Use this simple whiskey calorie calculator to see calories, grams of alcohol, and number of standard drinks based on pour size, proof, and number of pours—so you know exactly what’s in your glass. Go to the Bourbon Calorie Calculator.
- Hurst Knoll Rye Whiskey by Rare Character is a Kentucky straight rye aged at least seven years and bottled at 101 proof. Designed with cocktails in mind but also enjoyable neat, this citrus-forward rye brings well-balanced structure to classic drinks. Find out more in my review!
- Lost Lantern’s Fall 2025 Scotch Lovers’ Collection features three single casks from Triple Eight Distillery, each offering a distinct take on American single malt. From lightly peated to bright and fruity to richly finished in Sauternes casks, these bottlings show impressive range. Read my full breakdown and tasting notes of all three.
- Ampersand Malus blends rye whiskey and Calvados apple brandy into one unique pour, bottled at 92 proof. If you enjoy apple-forward spirits with layered spice, this one might surprise you. Read my full review to learn all about it!
- Preservation Distillery’s Outlaw Kentucky Bourbon – Jesse James Edition is a pot-distilled small batch wheated bourbon blending 7–8 year barrels and bottled at 107.6 proof. This one surprised me in the best way! Read my review to learn all about it!
New Bourbon Releases News For January 30, 2026
New Bourbon Releases
Garrison Brothers Distillery Announces Their First-Ever Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon
Garrison Brothers Distillery has announced the release of their first Bottled in Bond Bourbon, a six-year-old, 100-proof Texas bourbon made from Texas grains and proofed with pure Hill Country rainwater. Distilled in Fall 2019, this expression follows the 1897 U.S. law requiring the spirit to be made from one distilling season, one distiller, and aged in bonded storage, amongst other things. This release marks a milestone for Texas distilling, featuring a profile that is oaky and smoky with layers of caramelized dark chocolate, plums, and roasted almonds, according to the distillery. Two thousand bottles will be available first come, first served at the distillery on February 28, 2026, with wider retail availability following in March at a suggested retail price of $99.99. Read the full press release.
Winchester Bourbon & Double Oaked Bourbon Debut
Winchester Ammunition has officially entered the whiskey market with the launch of Winchester Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Debuting this week at the SHOT Show in Las Vegas, the new line is “crafted for the adventure” and includes two expressions: a standard Kentucky Straight Bourbon ($44.99, 92.4 proof) and a Double Oaked Bourbon ($64.99, 102.4 proof). The whiskey is distilled in Kentucky and bottled at the “Model 1866 Distillery” (a nod to Winchester’s founding year) which is housed within Ugly Dog Distillery in Chelsea, Michigan. According to the brand, the mash bill features 70% corn, 20% rye, and 10% malted barley. Read our article about Winchester Bourbon here.
Editor’s Note: This is an officially licensed product of the ammunition brand and is distinct from the private-label “Winchester” bourbon sold by Total Wine. I’m sure that won’t cause any confusion…🙄
Maker’s Mark Cask Strength Now Carries An Age Statement
Suntory Global Spirits has officially announced a packaging update for Maker’s Mark Cask Strength Bourbon. According to the brand, Maker’s Mark Cask Strength will be packaged in a new premium glass bottle, similar to Maker’s 46 and the Wood Finishing Series Bourbons. In addition, the new label displays a precise age statement, a shift from the previous non-age-stated packaging. Maker’s Cask Strength is aged “to taste” which is generally for 7-8 years. It is bottled at barrel proof, which varies by batch between 107 and 114 proof, with the proof reflecting Maker’s relatively low barrel entry proof of 110. The updated bottles carry a suggested retail price of $49.99. Read the press release at SuntoryGlobalSpirits.com.
Editor’s Note: Age stated Maker’s Mark Cask Strength Bourbon has been available for a few months, so it is likely that you have already seen this bottle. However, for reasons that only they know, Suntory Global Spirits officially announced this change in a press release dated January 21, 2026, which is why I am including it in today’s newsletter.
Bluegrass Distillers 7-Year High Rye Blue Corn Bourbon Released
Bluegrass Distillers is taking their heirloom blue corn series “up a notch” with the release of the Bluegrass 7-Year High Rye Blue Corn 100 Proof Bourbon—their first-ever High Rye expression in the blue corn line. In a departure from previous blue corn releases which were wheated, this new expression blends the “smooth, subtly floral sweetness of non-GMO heirloom blue corn” with rye’s “delicate spice.” According to the bottle label, it uses a mash bill of 70% blue corn, 21% rye and 9% malted barley. Bottled at 100 proof and aged for seven years, this 750ml release is currently available for $60. bluegrassdistillers.com

New Bourbon Releases-Adjacent
This isn’t actually a bourbon release, but it is pretty cool:
Filmland Spirits Introduces its Newest Addition – The Filmologist
Filmland Spirits today introduced the newest member of the team – The Filmologist™ – a sarcastic bartender who serves up order information, cocktail suggestions and the occasional joke – all with a healthy dose of attitude. Filmland’s ‘Non-Programmer’ CEO Troy Bolotnick used vibe coding and a combination of AI platforms to create The Filmologist, who evolved into a sarcastic blend of entertainment, insults, brand knowledge and mixology. Guests who grab a seat at The Filmologist’s bar can check on an existing order, find a local retailer, and ask for product recommendations or food pairing suggestions. Instead of making a boring, utilitarian chatbot, Filmland decided to imbue theirs with a rebellious spirit that is baked into Filmland’s DNA. The Filmologist is on duty 24/7 at FilmlandSpirits.com. Read the full press release here!
Editor’s Note: To clarify, Filmland Spirits’ latest release isn’t a whiskey. The Filmologist is an AI chatbot. It does indeed have a sarcastic attitude, but it also is helpful in answering Filmland Spirits related questions. I tried it out by looking for whiskey recommendations, and it’s not bad. Check it out and see what you think. You can find the Filmologist on the Filmland Spirits home page!
This isn’t a bourbon release, either. But, since we did bourbon-adjacent chocolates from Woodford Reserve last time, why not include this deal on Brother’s Bond chocolates today?

Each bar is 1.6 ounces, and contains under 0.5% alcohol. Each order includes a “special Valentine’s Day card from Ian and Paul!” Place your order before February 10, 2026 to take advantage of this deal. Here’s the link to buy chocolates!
And, this one is also not quite a new release. Do you see a pattern?
Bardstown Bourbon Company Launches Bold Packaging Redesign
Bardstown Bourbon Company will reveal a comprehensive packaging transformation across its core portfolio this year, “reflecting a continued commitment to pushing the boundaries of bourbon while maintaining exceptional quality standards”, according to the brand. The refined modernist aesthetic introduces sophisticated design elements, including enhanced visibility on shelf with bold typography, improved product clarity, and a refined color system. The updated labels were in response to consumer comments stating that they had difficulty telling the expressions apart on store shelves.
“Our new packaging amplifies what made us who we are: bold, innovative, transparent and high-quality. Every element, from our beautiful bottle to the premium materials, tells the story of our unwavering commitment to excellence while signaling our evolution as a brand that is ready to boldly step into the future,” said Pete Marino, President of Lofted Spirits. Additionally, the refreshed design will roll out in early Spring on core products, accompanied by a new single barrel option featuring their Wheated Bourbon recipe. Read the full press release.
