Let’s taste it:
🛏 Rested for 15 minutes in a Glencairn
👉🏻Nose: Moderately sweet with sweet light toffee, dark cherries and brown sugar; hints of tart orange peel and tangy mesquite smoke; mild dry oak later on; alcohol vapor is appropriate for the proof
👉🏻Taste: Mild to moderate simple syrup sweetness, toffee & dark cherries; dark chocolate in the background; mild tannins and white pepper spice later on
👉🏻Finish: Lingering mild sweetness and dark cherries; mild white pepper spice; fairly dry later on with mild tannins, dry wood and mild char; long with a deep warmth
Summary
The nose of Preservation Outlaw Kentucky Bourbon – Jesse James Edition has an inviting combination of rich flavors and sweet dark fruit, as well as just the right touch of tart citrus, mesquite smoke and dry oak. These all combine to create a beautifully complex combination of flavors. Similar notes continue into the palate and then linger into the finish, where they are joined by a pleasant palate-cleansing spice and dryness, which ready me for my next sip.
Conclusion
Preservation Outlaw Kentucky Bourbon – Jesse James Edition is a delicious pour. It has the perfect combination of sweet and tart fruits, confectionary notes, spices, oak and even a touch of smoke.
