Pursuit Spirits Adds Two New Proofs & New Packaging to Their Core Line
In May, Pursuit Spirits announced a refreshed package design and updated label for the Pursuit United lineup, adding both low-proof and barrel-proof expressions. The goal of the redesign was to enhance clarity and transparency, particularly of their use of three distinct mash bills in both their bourbon and rye.
The updated label highlights Triple Mash Rye, and more clearly and provides detailed mash bill information to better communicate how the whiskey is constructed. This approach was intended to help consumers more easily understand the blend and to help clarify its components.

Tasting Notes: Pursuit United Barrel Proof Triple Mash Rye Review
🛏 Rested: 15 minutes in a Glencairn glass
👉🏻 Nose: Moderately sweet; wintergreen, burnt caramel, rye spices, simple syrup sweetness; tart orange and lemon citrus; a touch of licorice. Darker stone fruit, like dark cherries, becomes noticeable later on, along with a touch of dry oak. Alcohol vapor is appropriate for the proof.
👉🏻 Taste: Moderately sweet; simple syrup, rye spices, nutmeg, citrus reminiscent of tart lime, with hints of wintergreen and licorice.
👉🏻 Finish: Moderate white pepper spice with mild lingering syrupy sweetness, tart citrus and licorice; slight oak and char at the end. Fairly long and mildly dry, with a pleasant warmth and long-lasting spice.
Summary
The flavors are fairly consistent from nose to finish, with the most noticeable change being the increasing head from white pepper spice in the finish. Nonetheless, the other flavors carry throughout the sip, including the simple syrup sweetness, which is not typical of a rye.
Conclusion: Pursuit United Barrel Proof Triple Mash Rye Review
Overall, this is a very enjoyable pour. This is a rye that manages to be flavorful and approachable while still offering enough spice and warmth to remind you it’s a barrel-strength expression. As Ryan and Kenny would say in their Whiskey Quickie reviews over on Bourbon Pursuit, we give this rye three thumbs up—nose, taste, and finish. It’s a good one! Have you tried the Pursuit United Barrel Proof Triple Mash Rye? What did you think? Cheers!🥃
