Tasting Notes – Ten Day Bourbon Prohibition Blend Review
Let’s taste it:
🛏 Rested: 15 minutes in a Glencairn glass
👉🏻 Nose: Mildly sweet; relatively light overall with caramel, oak, orange citrus and sweet dark cherries; mild hot cinnamon; alcohol fairly light for the proof
👉🏻 Taste: Mildly sweet from simple syrup and caramel; light oak; hints of tart orange citrus; mild hot cinnamon later on
👉🏻 Finish: Mildly sweet at first; subtle hot cinnamon and orange citrus continue; drier later on, although simple syrup sweetness also hangs on; moderately long with lingering cinnamon spice, dry wood and char
Classic Bourbon Flavors With a Lighter Profile
The flavors on the nose of Ten Day Bourbon Prohibition Blend are fairly light but quite pleasant. There is a nice mix of sweetness, spiciness and fruit. Similar flavors continue on the palate, but the intensity is turned up a notch, with a moderate mouthfeel and body. Those flavors continue into the finish, which is still mildly sweet but becomes drier later on. The hot cinnamon spice increases and lingers, along with some dry wood, mild char, and surprisingly, some enduring simple syrup sweetness.
An Easy-Drinking 107-Proof Bourbon
Overall, Ten Day Bourbon Prohibition Blend is an easy-drinking, enjoyable pour. It definitely drinks lighter than its 107 proof, particularly on the nose. I am not sure of the exact percentages of each component, but perhaps the wheated bourbon makes up a larger share of the blend, given the somewhat lighter flavor profile for the proof. If you are looking for an easy-drinking bourbon with many of the classic flavors but a bit of a lighter profile, then Ten Day Prohibition Blend is one you will want to try. Have you had it? What did you think? Cheers!🥃
