Traveller Whiskey Released – A Chris Stapleton & Buffalo Trace Distillery Collaboration

Earlier this week, Chris Stapleton (singer, songwriter & musician, for those who aren’t familiar with him) and Buffalo Trace Distillery announced the release of Traveller Whiskey. Chris Stapleton worked with Buffalo Trace Master Distiller Harlan Wheatley and evaluated more than 50 different blends before arriving at the final whiskey. You may be wondering why there is this partnership? It’s because of Stapleton’s attachment to the brand. He was born in Lexington, KY and has collaborated with Buffalo Trace in the past on various fundraising initiatives. Traveller Whiskey is named after Stapleton’s first album, and is a blend of whiskeys made at Sazerac’s (the parent company of Buffalo Trace) distilleries, and is meant to be a whiskey that everyone can enjoy. It began retail distribution on January 1, 2024, comes in at 90 proof and has an MSRP of $39.99.

Angel’s Envy Announces New Expansion Plans For 2024

I can’t find an actual press release about this, but details have been trickling out for a few weeks from different sources (see below). As you may already know, Angel’s Envy recently completed a large expansion of their Louisville visitor center. It turns out, they are not stopping there! They have recently purchased the parking lot across the street and are planning on building a 3 story bottling and event space, according to WDRB.com. Interestingly, Angel’s Envy isn’t just expanding in Louisville. They also utilize property in Henry County where they have 4 rick houses with 3 more on the way, as well as a blending and barreling facility also in the works. In addition, they have plans for a grandiose visitor experience on the land. It is projected to include a wide range of amenities including a tasting facility, restaurant, lodging, an amphitheater and more.

Sugarlands Distilling Company Launches Mark & Digger’s Mountain Legacy Corn Whiskey

Sugarlands Distilling Company, in collaboration with Mark Ramsey and Eric “Digger” Manes from the TV show Moonshiners, announced the release of their new product, Mark and Digger’s Mountain Legacy Corn Whiskey. This 120-proof, unaged whiskey, crafted from a traditional mash bill using Tennessee corn, is the third product from their collaboration. The whiskey will be available beginning January 26, 2024 at Sugarlands’ Gatlinburg, TN distillery, and soon after at retailers nationwide. (Interesting tidbit: Corn whiskey is the only American whiskey that does not have to age in an oak barrel/container. Did you know that?)
