Wild Turkey Distillery New Visitor Center, Tours & Tastings
Although there has yet to be an official grand opening (as of May 3, 2024), the new Wild Turkey Visitor Center has been quietly welcoming visitors for about a week. New tours and tastings are now currently available, available for booking via online reservations. We had the opportunity to check out the Visitor Center last Friday, and were also able to take one of the new tours, the Born from the Barrel – Russell’s Reserve Immersion Tour.
The newly remodeled visitor center is impressive, with two floors, a new gift shop, a bar, tasting rooms and an expanded outdoor patio. The patio has more space & seating than before, great views of the Kentucky river, a fireplace, and yet another bar! Check out my short video of the new Wild Turkey Visitor center on Instagram or Facebook!
New Tours & Tastings Are Now Available
Wild Turkey Tours
Along with the remodel, new tours and tasting have been added. There are currently two tours available. They are the:
- Wild Turkey Distillery Tour – a 60 minute in-depth walking tour that includes a visit to the distillery and a stop into one of the historic rickhouses. The tour includes a guided tasting of some of Wild Turkey’s products. $25
- Born from the Barrel – Russell’s Reserve Immersion Tour – a 60 minute in-depth look at where and how Russell’s Reserve is made, as well as Russell history. The tour centers around a visit to one of Wild Turkey’s oldest and most iconic timber rickhouses, but does NOT include a tour of the distillery production area. The tour concludes with a guided tasting of some Russell’s Reserve products. $65
The Born from the Barrel Tour marks the first time that Wild Turkey’s tours have included an in-depth visit to an historic rickhouse. As this tour does not include a tour of the distillery production area, visitors may be interested in also booking the Wild Turkey Distillery Tour to see the entire operation. Tours can be booked online at wildturkeybourbon.com, and reservations are recommended.
Tastings
There are now two tasting available, each featuring a different line of Wild Turkey’s whiskeys. These are the:
- Wild Turkey Premium Bourbon Tasting – a 30 minute guided tasting of a sampling of premium Wild Turkey whiskeys and some limited time offerings (based on availability). $45
- Russell’s Reserve Connoisseur Whiskey Tasting – a 30 minute premium tasting of a sampling of Russell’s Reserve bourbons and ryes. $45
(whiskeys vary based on availability)
Visitors can partake in either tasting, depending on their preferences. Tastings do not include Wild Turkey distillery or rickhouse tours. Tastings can be booked online at wildturkeybourbon.com and reservations are recommended.
Conclusion
I have eagerly awaited the return of the Wild Turkey Visitor Center and Tours, and now that they are here, they definitely don’t disappoint! They are the perfect addition to anyone’s visit to the Kentucky Bourbon Trail! Cheers!🥃
